Job Title: Financial Controller Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Financial Controller to provide expert financial leadership on a part-time or contract basis. The Financial Controller will work closely with the executive team to drive business growth, optimize financial performance, and ensure robust financial controls. About the Company: Our client is an innovative biomaterials company combining the power of nature and technology to reimagine leather. They leverage structural proteins from plants to replicate the fibril structures of collagen in animal hides, creating a fiber that looks, feels, and performs like leather. Working Conditions: Fully remote position. Flexible work hours. Initial workload of 10-12 hours per week. Potential for increased hours during critical periods. Key Responsibilities: Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies aligning with company objectives Provide financial insights to support senior executive decision-making Partner with COO in sales projection planning and revenue forecasting Utilize and improve financial modeling tools for accurate COGS calculation, revenue forecasting, and long-term budgeting Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present regular financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Manage company cash flow for liquidity and financial stability Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment strategies Implement effective working capital management practices Operational Finance: Supervise financial operations (accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax compliance) Optimize internal financial processes for efficiency and accuracy Improve COGS calculation accuracy Develop material measurement conversion tools for planning and purchasing Identify and rectify inaccuracies in current financial models Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks Ensure appropriate insurance coverage and risk management strategies Oversee compliance with financial laws and regulations Fundraising & Investor Relations: Assist with fundraising efforts, including financial modeling and investor presentations Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial stakeholders Provide financial due diligence support for strategic initiatives Lead financial audits and manage relationships with external auditors Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred Minimum 10 years experience in senior financial roles, with at least one previous role in manufacturing companies Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and management in the manufacturing industry Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems Extensive experience in finance, costing, and accounting within companies that transform raw materials into final products Proven track record in developing and implementing growth-driving financial strategies Excellent communication and presentation skills Experience with fundraising, investor relations, and financial modeling Compensation: Competitive salary paid in USD or Local Currency according to your preference.
