Job Summary : The Financial Reporting Specialist will be responsible for obtaining report requirements and preparing and delivering insightful financial Advertising reports.
The position will also need to understand and modify existing reports as requested by the business users.
Excellent communication skills are a must for the position because of the need to directly interact with business users to gather requirements and work with the users to validate and ensure the accuracy of the reports.
Responsibilities Create/modify Cognos and SSRS reports as requested by the business users.
Schedule queries to run automatically and set up to email reports to recipients.
Modify the Cognos framework on an infrequent basis.
Develop Informer queries to report on data from Naviga Ad.
Explore and recommend other reporting tools that can replace Cognos.
Prepares and presents written and oral presentations.
Keeps management apprised of project status.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Education Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or other related field.
IBM Cognos Designer Certification a plus.
4+ years' experience developing Cognos framework packages and Cognos queries.
General Skills : Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with organizational personnel to define problems and present solutions at all levels of the organization.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to translate customer requirements into specifications.
Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
Comfortable in rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous work situations.
Possesses strategic thinking combined with tactical project planning and management skills.
Specific Skills : Strong skills creating and maintaining Cognos queries using Cognos 11 required.
Experience developing/updating Cognos framework packages using Cognos 11.
Possesses skills and experience using SSRS and SQL queries.
Experience developing reports with PowerBI is desired.
Skills using Informer and other reporting tools a plus.
Understanding of databases (SQL Server, Oracle and UniData) is desired.
Knowledgeable of best practices for the creation of reports.
