Orato World Media is searching for an experienced, enthusiastic, and data-driven marketing consultant or firm to test and measure the quality and potential of our repository of content in the market which consists of more than 2600 'first-person' news stories; stories written and verified by journalists in the voice of interview subjects who experienced news events first-hand and which can be viewed at orato.world.
The selected person or firm will play a pivotal role in Orato World Media's future success as we enter the second half of our start-up phase. This project requires both tactical and strategic support. We request proposals based upon the following project parameters.
The selected firm or individual will:
Develop a dedicated short-term campaign to present and test our library of content in the market.
Work together with Orato's Publisher and CEO to define and identify stakeholder groups for engagement, including but not limited to news consumers, journalists, media professionals, philanthropists, investors, podcasters, publishers, film and television professionals, and more.
Develop a targeted strategy with content to deploy on the relevant social media platforms.
Suggest and manage additional engagement tools to reach target audiences with Orato's content.
Present and report findings. This will include:
Market testing results amongst stakeholder groups
Recommendations for the best use of Orato's repository of content such as licensing content to other media; adapting content for mediums such as podcasts, books, film, and television; continuing to publish content in a traditional news format; etc.
Aligning recommendations to the potential to monetize and permeate Orato's content widely as a self-supporting legacy brand
Suggestions for the branding and presentation of Orato's content to recommended stakeholder groups moving forward
Suggestions for the organization of Orato's staff and resources around the strategic goals outlined in the findings (ie: what and who do we need to have in place to sustain the marketing campaign and achieve our goals in growth and engagement)
Why this? Why Now?
Since Orato World Media's inception in 2020, we have created a successful platform dedicated to the production of first-person news: stories written and verified by journalists in the voice of interview subjects who experienced news events first-hand. When a news event breaks, wherever that might be, Orato is there searching for someone who not only witnessed the event but, more importantly, survived it.
An Orato journalist interviews that individual in their own domestic language, so we can publish – in English and the subject's native language – the account of their story. We call this first-person news reporting. Orato's content gives readers a reliable, trusted source for news, while generating understanding, empathy, and compassion for the people impacted by world events.
As a result, during our start-up phase, Orato achieved three major goals. (1) We built an innovative system to teach the unique skill of first-person news reporting and to publish first-person news. (2) We attracted journalists and foreign correspondents from every continent. (3) We developed a repository of more than 2,500 first-person news stories. Our journalists have covered major world events like the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, the global immigration crisis, climate-induced weather events, the impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and more.
As we embark on phase two of this start-up experience, Orato must test and measure the potential and quality of our content in the market. With an open mind, armed with curiosity and the desire to tell the news through the words of those who experienced it, we will examine the results of this market test to determine how best to utilize and distribute our content, and to introduce it to audiences around the world.
In approximately five months, in April 2025, Orato will have the opportunity to engage with critical international audiences and must be equipped with and fluent in the results of this campaign and marketing study. Orato's leadership is highly motivated to move forward immediately in hiring and engaging an individual or firm in this process. We will consider all competitive bids.
