Drilling Contractor
for a 12-Month contract likely to renew to work in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
Job Summary:
The HSE & Drilling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing drilling operations while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations. This role combines technical expertise in drilling operations with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. The Superintendent will lead a team of professionals, manage drilling activities, and implement
HSE policies to minimize risk and promote a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures in compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Lead safety training and orientation programs for all personnel involved in drilling operations.
Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with HSE teams to promote awareness and adherence to safety practices across all drilling operations.
Drilling Operations Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and supervise drilling operations, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Monitor drilling performance and make recommendations for optimization based on data analysis and industry best practices.
Ensure that drilling equipment is maintained, inspected, and operated safely and efficiently.
Coordinate with various departments (geology, engineering, logistics) to ensure smooth operations and timely project delivery.
Manage drilling contractors and service providers, ensuring they adhere to HSE and operational standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Solid experience with Offshore Drilling and HSE Management
Past experience working with offshore drilling for SS or Drillship
Past experience working as an HSE Officer role
Fluent Portuguese and English
Fluent Chinese would be an asset
