Bueno Law is a trailblazing queer immigration law firm focused on empowering the Latin American LGBTQ+ community, survivors of domestic violence, victims of human trafficking, and other vulnerable individuals.
We provide life-changing legal services to immigrants in the United States, and we're looking for passionate, people-first individuals to join our remote team.
Your Role as an Intake Specialist: You would be responsible for interviewing new clients who contact the office, and gathering information to prepare their intake before they speak to an attorney about their immigration case.
Note of Caution: you will hear many stories of abuse, persecution, and distress.
If you don't think you could handle that, we understand, but this job might not be for you.
Client Engagement Be a friendly voice or face clients interact with.
Respond promptly to the booking agents and client transfers.
Provide a compassionate and professional introduction to our firm.
Guide new clients through onboarding, setting expectations and sharing next steps.
Case Screening & Qualification Conduct initial client interviews to gather and assess case details.
Make sure the client meets all requirements of the consultation before transferring to the attorney.
Data Management Input and update client information in our case management system with precision.
Keep our intake database organized and up-to-date.
Handle sensitive client information with care and in accordance with firm policies.
Collaboration with Legal Team Share key client insights with attorneys and booking agents for review.
Be able to handle a fast-paced environment with one client call every 40 minutes.
Metrics for Success: Complete one client intake every 40 minutes.
Gather sufficient information for the attorney to determine whether the client qualifies, without needing to follow-up.
Maintain accurate and complete client records in the system.
What We're Looking For: Stellar communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude, and excitement to be helping immigrants.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
Fluent in English and Spanish or Portuguese (bonus points for both!).
Experience in customer service, intake, or similar roles (legal experience is a plus).
Proficiency in office software and case management tools.
Ability to build trust, manage multiple priorities, and handle confidential information.
