We're looking for a professional to act as Internal Control Specialist in our second line of defense team covering our Global Wealth Management (GWM) and Investment Banking (IB) business in Latin America to:
provide independent oversight and challenge on processes and controls in place across the firm and influencing actions required to mitigate associated risks. provide consultation on the control framework to the Business Divisions and Group Functions. work across the multiple dimensions of Internal Control programs and understand how they impact the business and mitigation required. ensure Internal Controls framework is in place and kept up to date with policies and procedures aligned with the regulatory requirements. Your team You'll be working in the Internal Controls (Compliance) team in Brazil (São Paulo). This is a dynamic, driven, and diverse team of professionals, with oversight responsibility for monitoring the control's environment arising from UBS' business in Latin America. You'll also be aligned with the local C&ORC team for Latin America and respective 2LoD colleagues across Compliance and Financial Crimes Prevention.
Your expertise bachelor's degree – or international equivalent - in a relevant area of study required. 5+ years of Internal Controls expertise, with understanding of processes, risks, controls design and operating effectiveness testing – ideally with a financial institution, at a regulatory agency, or major consulting firm. sound knowledge of financial services and products, and an understanding of the legal and regulatory expectations / requirements related to financial services (particularly within Brazil) structured, rigorous, analytical, and thorough in your approach with the ability to form defensible conclusions from control's testing Portuguese and English skills availability to work on-site in São Paulo at least 3-days per week (hybrid work) PQO Compliance certification - if not yet obtained, it must be acquired within the timeframe set by the company (90 days) About us UBS is the world's largest and the only truly global wealth manager.
