IT Infrastructure Operations Specialist
MISSION
Provide IS teams processes, methods and tools necessary for their activities, as well as the associated standards, assistance and advice.
KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Run & Maintain
- Engage in 2nd and 3rd-level support for reported IT Infrastructure incidents, document problems, and solutions, and assist team members when required;
- Act as the senior point of escalation within the IT infrastructure support team;
- Escalation management on complex or unsolved incidents with third-party specialists and product vendors;
- Act as the situation manager during major incidents to resolve unplanned events adversely affecting the organization, review and implement preemptive solutions;
- Be available on-call for 7/24 support on a weekly rotational basis.
Process Improvement & Skill Development
- Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that will enhance operations and increase availability;
- Adopt and work in an Agile/Lean environment, improve teamwork and continuous improvement;
- Coach and mentor team members to improve technical skills, troubleshooting skills and process adherence;
- Identify and develop new soft and technical skills to reinforce the ability to design various IT solutions, enlarge his/her expertise and teamwork abilities in a scrum development approach; for self and for the team;
- Actively share his/her expertise to enhance the skills of other members.

EXTERNAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized university/institute;
- Minimum 10 years of IT Industry experience and 7 years of experience in an IT Infrastructure support related role;
- Hands on experience in administrating and troubleshooting industry standard x86 servers and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory and Exchange Servers;
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting virtualization product VMWare VSphere, VMWare ESX and ESXi;
- Hands on experience in administrating and troubleshooting storage systems such as NAS, SAN and Tape libraries;
- Experience in supporting WAN / LAN technologies and ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues with routers, switches, firewalls and WAN accelerators;
- Experience in AWS cloud and SuSE or RedHat Linux is considered as an asset;
- Experience in a multinational company and working with global teams will be an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills (English is required).
