Overview This incumbent will address the immediate health needs of the post-flood affected population with communicable and noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), provide counseling and referral sources for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) including mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) counseling through the deployment of one Mobile Medical Teams (MMTs).
This position is for Bangladesh locals only Responsibilities Major Responsibilities: Supervise and manage a team; align their efforts with program goals to ensure project objectives are met within the set timelines and budget. Assist in implementing interventions in Sunamganj/ Noakhali under this project. Liaison with Local GOB and coordinate with DGFP and DGHS to inform them about the project activity. Finalize the collaboration and delineate the roles and responsibilities with the local Government of Bangladesh authorities for implementing the program. Support the physician/medical officer in organizing monthly coordination meetings with district GoB managers, local community groups, and community support groups. Perform regular visits to the district to oversee and monitor the overall project activities and conduct client exit interviews. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and local government authorities. Supervise the district team and ensure they are performing all tasks accordingly and following the Jhpiego Bangladesh CoC. Assist in obtaining and facilitating the distribution of SBCC materials to enhance community awareness. The ER Coordinator will assist in improving GOB surveillance activities. Submit quarterly reports to the Country Focal and Technical Director as per the required timeline. Keep the concerned program staff informed of successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Safeguarding Responsibilities: Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding and establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encouraging others to do so once the technology is completed, doing a quality assessment by verifying generated contents. Required Qualifications Minimum 05 years of work experience in the Maternal, Child Health, Family Planning and SRHR field or any other relevant organization and 3 years in a managerial position in Humanitarian/Development Sector. MBBS mandatory. MPH from a reputed institute will be an added advantage. Efficient computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent influencing, advocacy, public relations, communication, and networking skills. Advanced organization and coordination skills. Good recording, reporting & presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of diverse teams. Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Experience working with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOH&FW) and Local Governments. Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the Bangladesh healthcare system, particularly the public health system. Experience in GBV and MHPSS would be an advantage. Strong skills in word processing and Excel spreadsheets. Solid written, presentation, communication, and organizational skills in both English and Bangla. Demonstrated self-management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability). Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
