We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and driven Lead Security Engineer to join our engineering team and take on significant responsibility.
You will design new architectures and maintain existing infrastructure to ensure security controls are met, whilst collaborating closely with our engineers to implement solutions.
We are starting our journey into Cloud native computing.
We already have Prod Workloads running and while this is working well, we are still pretty green field.
We have an opening for an engineering heavyweight to help us define how best to be top to bottom secure as we migrate and rewrite critical workloads.
We need help putting in place the designs, processes, automation, and abstractions we need.

Responsibilities
Be the thought leader for all things security;
Analysis, simplification, and design of a new security model for our product, complete any PoCs and work with a team to implement it;
Collaborate closely with other squads to coach and understand capability needs and common impediments;
Lead on removing common impediments;
Educate and coach others in DevSecOps practices;
Balance security risk against the other needs of the business;
Maintain knowledge of current and emerging security best practices and tools;
Help us embed security into our SDLC.
Key skills and qualifications
Understanding the many security principles up and down the product stack including compute, networking, and storage;
Good knowledge of AWS, security well architected, IAM and OAuth;
Key, Cert, and Secrets management;
Coding in Dotnet to solve security problems;
Leadership and communication;
Proven track record of leading and delivering projects from conception to production in an agile environment;
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to help drive fast decisions;
Cloud and DevOps;
Extensive experience with AWS cloud architecture and services;
Deep understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code but we do not mind which: AWS CDK, Terraform, Pulumi, etc;
Prometheus, DynaTrace, and/or OpenTelemetry or similar;
Linux and Windows;
Design Principles;
Comfortable with OO and/or functional design patterns;
Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills;
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively;
Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field;
3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud-based applications;
AWS certifications (e.g., Security specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer etc.)
are a plus.
Preferred skills and qualifications
3+ years of hands-on experience in design, development, and delivery of cloud-based applications security;
Understanding of modern web development;
A good understanding of modern distributed systems concepts and the challenges involved;
Ability to devise action orientated scheduling leading to delivery;
Proven ability to partner effectively across functions, in complex organizations;
Patience and dedication, with the ability to navigate complex environments through product knowledge and leadership style;
Ability to adapt to change;
Ability to identify, and focus on, what is important (time management and priorities tasks).
