About us: Present in Brazil for 66 years, Sumitomo Mitsui Corporation Brasil (SMBCB) offers its clients a range of financial services focused on the banking sector such as leasing, securities, investments, venture and other credit-related businesses.Job Responsibilities:Supporting mostly the investment banking area, with engagement in other areas of the bankReviewing, drafting, and negotiating documentation for credit transactions, with an emphasis on project finance and on DCM transactions, as well as on other typical banking and securities transactions, including bilateral or syndicated credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, guarantees, security agreements, intercreditor agreements, and engagement lettersManaging legal risks aiming at protecting the bankFacilitating transactions by providing proactive, business-oriented and creative advice, always observing the applicable banking and securities regulationsAdvising on specific legal cases as well as strategic and political matters of legal and regulatory natureInforming business lines of relevant developments in the law and regulation thereby offering legal education accordinglyWorking closely with the front office and other internal stakeholders to assist with the structuring and coordination of credit transactionsSupervising and managing external counsel as appropriateQualifications:Bachelor degree in law and admission to a Brazilian BAR (OAB) is required; and be a member of good standing of such barExperience at a law firm or in-house legal department advising financial institutions on bilateral and syndicated commercial lending transactions with substantial experience in structured finance transactions.
