Dow has an opportunity as a Logistics Strategic Sourcing Specialist located in São Paulo or in Santos Dumont (BRA).
About you and this role - What you would do in this role:
The Sourcing Specialist will support Logistics, and managing of Consumer Solution Portfolio. The main purpose of the Sourcing Specialist role is to create value by providing appropriate input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and commercial agreements; and negotiating assigned raw materials for execution as purchase orders. This position is a business team member responsible for various sourcing activities pertaining to running the business and contract management, as well providing support for the Supply Manager in implementing and executing strategy and agreements.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and assist the execution of Sourcing Projects using the Strategic Sourcing Process.- Leads and coordinates supplier´s relationships.- Implement commercial agreements for products and services according to the business needs, to maximize the business profitability.- Collects and utilizes market intelligence to shape purchases/strategic plan.- Maintain solid knowledge of suppliers and relevant market trends & developments such as economics scenario, mergers and acquisitions, financial status and changes in key personnel.- Establish a strong communication channel with business to guarantee the appropriate alignment between purchasing and business strategy.- Utilize available Sourcing tools (E.g. e-RFI, e-RFQ, e-Auctions) to the fullest capability, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Purchasing process.- Lead and coordinate supplier´s relationship, and effectively manage quality service / product performance issues with suppliers.- Execute contractual obligations within the delegated scope of responsibility and legal authority.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required (no course preference)- Language proficiency: Advanced Portuguese and English- 5 years of professional experience.- Working knowledge of purchasing fundamentals and procurement work processes and policies.- Ability to focus on value delivery and maintaining sustainable competitive advantages.- Effective negotiator and able to persuade others (internal stakeholders and external suppliers) through effective communication skills.- Financial and market analysis skills, and effectively manipulate and analyze data.- Initiative to challenge inefficiencies and process deviations.- Strong data analysis skills to effectively identify value opportunities.- Strategic Thinking,- Power of Negotiation- Financial acumen- Project Management- Leadership to coordinates stakeholder's relationships.- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and I&D- Effective communication skills to persuade stakeholders.- Initiative to challenge inefficiencies, process deviations, and strategy deviations.- Exhibition of strong work ethic and responsiveness to earn respect of business partners.
