Senior Mainframe Systems Automation Specialist (zOS Automation and CA OPS/MVS)
to work remotely for a client in the US.
This is a potentially long term position with a client that is a global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology and engineering services present in nearly 50 countries.
This client is working with one of the major players in the mainframe technology and tools area.

Job responsibilities
:
We are looking for highly skilled Mainframe Automation Specialists with expertise in Netview, IBM zOS System Automation, CA OPS/MVS, and overall strong command of mainframe automation technologies.
The project will involve migrating customers from existing CA OPS/MVS automation solution to IBM's Netview (zOS automation).
Develop and maintain REXX scripts to support automation and scripting needs, collaborating with other teams.
Utilize Pipes to enhance mainframe automation processes when applicable, as well as troubleshoot and optimize existing Pipes configurations.
Provides estimations, agrees on task duration with the team/manager, and contributes to the project plan of assigned area.
Analyzes scope of alternative solutions and makes decision about area implementation based on his/her experience and technical expertise
Key skills
:
5+ years of experience as a Mainframe Software Engineer in software maintenance and support.
Automation experience required: CA OPS/MVS and System Automation (zOS SA) / Netview, implementation and migration experience.
Experienced with Rexx programming.
Knowledge of other Z software including COBOL, PL/I, JCL, VSAM/QSAM, DB2, Assembler/PLX, SMP/E, RACF security, and other operations tools will be very useful although not mandatory.
Experience with Application Development on IBM Z is a plus.
Familiarity with software maintenance practices, including vulnerability management and patching.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team across different time zones.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
