**Manager Accounting

**Position Description**:
The Latin America' Accounting Financial Leader will work on the month-end close responsibilities and quarter-end consolidated financial accounting and reporting activities to ensure compliance with all external and internal requirements. The Accounting Financial Leader will also work with other internal departments within Goodyear, all Country Controller in Latin America, internal control, as well as accounting personnel from the Company's international business units.
**Principal Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate financial statement closing activities for Latin America Region: Monitoring and communication of closing status, troubleshooting issues, performance of internal controls over financial statement close process. Reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly. Key areas of the close process include account related to restructuring plans, EBIT reporting, and unusual items reported to Corporate.
- Support all Latin America countries with closing process, policy analysis, standardized process through Americas Region and internal controls.
- Serve as a liaison to Latin America on various accounting matters related to the close process and account reconciliations.
- Work with internal/external auditors to provide necessary requests for quarter-end reviews and year-end audit. Work with other departments on accounting matters and serve as a source of information relative to such matters. Participate in meetings and advise on the financial implications of matters under discussion.
- Perform various ad hoc analyses to support Goodyear's business operations as necessary, including the management of GY Global reporting to corporate from Americas.
**Required Experience and Education**:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
- A minimum of 6 years of accounting and / or auditing experience (preferably in a large, public accounting firm or large manufacturing organization).
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, able to understand complex data and issues with demonstrated ability to think outside the box.
