JOB DETAILSMANAGER, GBV ERT - (15)Job Title: Manager, GBV ERTLocation: Global - GO (Primary)Category: Emergency Response UnitDate Needed By: 8/1/2021Program Description (Background)International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through healthcare training and relief and development programs.This position will support International Medical Corps' emergency response delivering outpatient clinical care to disaster-affected populations.NOTE: Candidates applying to this position are indicating that they are interested in being considered for International Medical Corps' standby roster for emergency response.
Roster members will be contacted only when there is an emergency-response need for which the responder is qualified.
This position will not be compensated unless responders are deployed to an emergency response.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The Emergency Response Team GBV Manager ensures that GBV concerns are integrated into emergency response activities and leads interventions to strengthen GBV response services and mitigate protection risks for women and girls.MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESProgram PlanningLead GBV assessments as required, maximizing available sources of information and opportunities for coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards.Contribute to multi-sectoral and inter-agency assessments.Identify local partners and women's networks to reinforce local efforts to promote women's and girls' rights and address GBV.Ensure that programs are driven by women and girls and planned with community stakeholders.Identify appropriate locations and orientation for services, including women and girls safe spaces.Contribute to concept notes/proposals/appeals as needed.Capacity Building and ImplementationWork closely with GBV Technical Advisor, Team Leader, and other colleagues to achieve program goals and ensure quality of GBV prevention and response initiatives.Ensure adherence to IMC's GBV Minimum Standards, as well as relevant inter-agency guidelines and standards.Lead the delivery of emergency interventions.Build capacity of partners/volunteers/program teams to deliver relevant services and mitigate risks of GBV.Organize/support/facilitate technical trainings as needed.Establish and/or strengthen focused response services for survivors of GBV.Establish appropriate systems for information management.Work with teams and communities to raise awareness of protection risks and available services.Monitor and report on interventions.Coordination, Representation and AdvocacyShare assessment findings and recommendations with relevant sectors and authorities to inform the broader response.Work with partners and community members to develop a referral pathway and referral mechanisms.Coordinate with all relevant actors and actively participate in GBV working group or sub-cluster (where active).Coordinate with, and build capacity of, other sectors as possible to ensure integration of GBV concerns into various services and broader humanitarian response.Represent GBV standards and advocate for attention to women's and girls' rights and needs, as necessary with relevant leaders, authorities, and humanitarian actors.Human Resources ManagementSelect and orient program staff/volunteers/partners for effective implementation.Support, coach and supervise staff to strengthen quality of interventions.Develop support strategies for staff, foster team building, and introduce principles of self-care.Financial ManagementPlan activities in line with relevant budgets.Plan and procure supplies required for program activities, in line with budget and project timelines.Ensure compliance with donor regulations.Security and ConductEnsure compliance with security protocols and policies.Consider security implications of all program activities, reviewing initiatives with appropriate stakeholders.Foster a safe and supportive working environment for all GBV staff/volunteers/partners.Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality.Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization, notably through adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with anti-harassment, safeguarding and PSEA policies.Perform other duties as assigned.Code of ConductAs applicable to this position, an individual must promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the organization and maintain a clear understanding of International Medical Corps' and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.SafeguardingIt is all staff shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children.Equal OpportunitiesInternational Medical Corps is proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, disability or status as a veteran.Job RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTypically a Bachelor's degree in related field.
Advanced degree an advantage, particularly in related fields including Social Work, Public Health, International Development or Gender Studies.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Typically, 7+ years of related experience, preferably direct experience with GBV programming.Experience working in emergency response required.Relevant regional experience preferred.Demonstrated application of GBV core competencies and commitment to core principles of GBV programming.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.#J-18808-Ljbffr
