Role Purpose:
Manage all operational activities and drive improvement in the quarries to ensure a continuous workflow, within the budget and in accordance with local regulations and Sibelco's standards.
Aim to achieve the best competitive position and deliver the highest standard in the industry.
Responsiblities:
1) Quarry Management - Manage Operations activities in the Quarry according to the Operational Excellence and H&S principles of Sibelco.- Initiate activities to develop safe working behaviour at the quarry- Manage all actions to ensure continuity of the operational activities- Meet the yearly COS budget approved by the management and explain the positive and negative gaps- Supply the needed data for the budget process- Control the waste management- Aim for the highest standard in the industry and obtain the best competitive cost position (cost reduction, increase site yield, better value-products, better processes,)
2) Operational Activities - Execute operational activities within the budgeted Opex and Capex prescriptions.- Work with raw material, maintenance, by-products or wastes as main Opex drivers- Operate within the frameworks of the required permits
3) KPI's - Implement regional KPI's into the quarry and follow up their achievement.- Set and follow up specific KPI's per unit- Follow up regional KPI's on continuous improvement in operations and safety behaviour- Use the SSR as a management tool for follow up middle-/long-term objectives of the quarries
4) Continuous Improvement - Continuously initiate and drive improvement to ensure excellent team performance.- Identify Capex needs for continuity, process and cost improvement- Optimise the use of capital- Propose actions to enhance customer service and strengthen the relationship with them- Set specific KPI's to follow up on continuous improvement
5) People Management - Motivate and evaluate the team members to enhance team collaboration and support their individual development and growth.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Material Sciences or equivalent by experience- At least 3 years of management experience- English - proficient verbal & writing- Local language of the country of base and main operations - proficient verbal & writing
