Manufacturing Training and Documentation SpecialistThe manufacturing training and documentation specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs to ensure all manufacturing personnel are well-equipped with the skills and knowledge required to perform their jobs efficiently. The specialist will also create, maintain, and manage all training documentation, including manuals, procedures, work instructions, and best practices. This role ensures that all training materials are aligned with company standards, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.Primary Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Technical Writing, Training and Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a training or documentation role.Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs for technical or manufacturing roles.Strong technical writing and documentation skills.Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety standards.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document control systems, and e-learning platforms.Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA) related to manufacturing.Primary Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement training programs for manufacturing employees.Conduct training sessions (classroom, hands-on, e-learning) for new hires, ongoing employee development, and specialized skills.Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as necessary.Ensure training materials are accessible and understandable for all employees.Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, job aids, and manuals for manufacturing processes.Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and team leads to ensure the accuracy of technical documentation.Review and revise documentation to comply with changes in processes, equipment, or regulations.Ensure all training programs and materials meet safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.Assist with internal audits related to training and documentation processes.Keep up to date with industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.Work closely with manufacturing value stream leads/team leads, and quality assurance teams to identify training needs and gaps.Serve as a point of contact for training-related queries and issues.Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance training programs and process documentation.Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and modify them based on feedback and performance metrics.Identify opportunities for improving manufacturing efficiency through enhanced training and documentation.Stay current with advancements in training technology and methodologies, incorporating new techniques to improve learning outcomes.The successful candidate will enjoy a rewarding, challenging, and principled work environment.Guided by our core values, Rio Grande is committed to treating all people with dignity and respect.
