**What we are looking for**:
The volume and complexity of functions is continuing to rise. It is to be expected that this trend will continue over the coming years. AGCO's solution to this is a modular platform strategy. A second challenge is that functions have to be developed according to the state of the art of the industry in order to comply with EU product liability regulations and in agriculture standards like ISO 25119, ISO 13849, ISO 12000 etc. is leading this definition. To meet these requirements and also to avoid systematic and random hardware failures in the safety lifecycle, certain processes must be followed during development. The resulting process must match with AGCO's new product introduction process which cross-functionally aligns Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing and Marketing. A Functional Safety Manager (FSM) is needed to monitor and manage this process in terms of safety. The functional safety manager oversees the functional safety aspect of the whole mechatronic product lifecycle during development, production, maintenance and de-commissioning.
The most important responsibilities of that role are:
- Planning, coordination and verification of all activities related to the safety life cycle, across all phases and functions
- Create a culture in which functional safety is given appropriate attention.
- Facilitate processes for continuous improvement (procedures, tools, templates, obtain and transfer feedback)
- Ensure proficiency of staff regarding safety concepts, methodology, process knowledge
- Assessment of functional safety in all phases of the machine safety life cycle for each of the organizational units involved in the development - Ensure the required functional safety is maintained during the production process.
A strong background in E/E systems engineering and embedded SW development is required. This position reports to the global head of product functional safety.
**What are you going to do**:
This Role aligns the implementation of the safety lifecycle activities in vehicle NPI projects with the Global Functional Safety group. Accomplishing this requires also the following major responsibilities:
- Contact person of the organisational unit for all questions on the topic of functional safety
- Creation of the safety plan for the site or sites assigned - Creation of development interface agreement (DIA)
- Driving of the safety-related processes in the projects - Responsibility for all functional safety work products
- Support Safety Engineer by creating functional/technical safety concepts
- Collaboration on offers for the consideration of functional safety aspects
- Steering of the safety-related activities in the projects
- Moderating of the analysis sessions or performs safety analyses
- Organization of reviews, audits and safety assessments - Interface to the customer and to the suppliers for functional safety
- Maintains the safety case (proof that development was conducted according eg. ISO25119/ISO 13849)
- Follow current developments in functional safety, attend conferences and participate in user groups.
**What do you need**:
Experience - 3+ years experience in the development of safety critical functions in mechatronic machines
- very good understanding of system engineering practices
- very good understanding of electronic control devices (ECUs)
- good understanding about software development practices
- Good knowledge of the relevant standards for functional safety (ISO 25119, ISO 13849, ISO 26262, ISO 61508..)
