Position Overview
This role will see you working as part of a team to deliver exceptional standards of care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
The Midwife position is critical to increasing access to antenatal and post-natal care for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families.
Understanding of the national privacy principles and the importance of confidentiality will make you stand apart from other applicants.
Ideally, you will have hospital or community-based maternity experience.
You are a savvy communicator who can rapidly establish trust and respect with clinicians and patients.
You will be supported directly by the lead Doctor and the Clinic Manager.
This position is based at our Warwick Primary Health Care Clinic.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
Coordinate care for antenatal and postnatal women
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Provide one-on-one support to help women access necessary resources
Mental health and wellbeing support
Contraception advice
Postnatal checks and home visits
Midwife consultations
Breastfeeding support
Support and advocacy
Offer support and appropriate referrals to other services
Conduct home visits and monitor client engagement
Ensure all babies presenting at the clinic have completed antenatal follow-up care, including 715 health assessments and family support
Requirements:
Current registration with AHPRA.
This is a mandatory requirement of the position;
Interest in and understanding of issues that relate to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families;
Knowledge with working with children and families through their antenatal and postnatal journeys;
Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships.
Demonstrated effective organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Current Open C Class Driver's License valid in Queensland.
Satisfactory Police Check – no Serious/Criminal/Court Record.
Current CPR certification
