- You'll be based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as part of our global MineLens team. MineLens is part of McKinsey's New Ventures.- MineLens provides mining companies with the strategic business intelligence they need to identify, quantify, and prioritize value creation opportunities in their operations. It combines advanced analytics, a comprehensive database of mining performance benchmarks, and global mining expertise. - You will provide expert client service in strategic and operational topics and contribute to new product development that will help to expand MineLens capabilities.- In this role you will use your expertise in mining to run operational excellence diagnostics at mines to determine potential opportunities for improvement. You will assist clients in data collection, perform quantitative analysis of client data, and incorporate qualitative observations into benchmark reports.- Additionally, you will participate in the new product development of innovative approaches to mining data analytics.-
**Your qualifications and skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or other related area
- +3 years of work experience in mineral processing or open pit mining operations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work in Portuguese and English (other languages, particularly Spanish, also welcome)
- Superior problem-solving and analytical skills with proficiency in business software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint), mining software, and advanced analytical packages
- Significant understanding of the industry dynamics of the mining sector
- Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment with periodic travel to remote mining locations
