The AI/ML team is made up of smart and talented software engineering and data science individuals who have been given the freedom to use the latest cutting-edge techniques and technologies in their experimentation to move the data science and personalization efforts forward to the goal of increasing the magic of our 50M members' online shopping experience and our annual revenues.
The team is positioned uniquely in the sense that the team is responsible for both creating machine learning/deep learning solutions and productionizing the solutions in a scalable cloud environment, which removes the barrier between science and engineering that we typically see in the industry.
What you'll do: Work on challenging projects like NLP, computer vision, recommender systems, advanced statistical prediction models, and other AI technologies to drive revenue and enhance the personalized shopping experiences of our 50M members Implement robust software solutions for AI/ML/DL solutions.
Productionize scalable and distributed AI/ML/DL solutions in cloud-based ecosystems and be responsible for day-to-day production support Work in multi-functional agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver on data-driven product objectives Your background and skills will include: Masters in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of professional experience or BS with 5+ years of professional experience Experience building scalable microservices for delivery of high-volume data on preferably AWS or other cloud platforms Deep understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms Experience writing clean and efficient code in Python and/or Scala Experience with Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation/Terraform) Experience with Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools Experience with Streaming Infrastructure (Kinesis, Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink) Experience working with structured, and unstructured data and table design Experience working with distributed big data technologies (Spark or Hadoop) for AI/ML Experience working in an agile environment producing deliverables in a quick and iterative manner Excellent communication skills, ego-less coding habits, and a collaborative spirit At least 4-6 hours of overlap with US ET time zone Nice to have: Familiar with vector databases, RAG, and different LLM models Familiar with model monitoring, observability, and performance tuning Experience with Information Retrieval systems like Elasticsearch, Lucene, Solr Experience with web technologies like Django, React, Node.js
