ICM Group is looking for a Motor Man to work for a Major Oil and Gas Drilling company.
Job Summary: The Motor Man is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the drilling rig's engines and associated equipment.
This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all mechanical systems on the rig.
Key Responsibilities: Engine Operation: Operate and monitor diesel engines and other mechanical equipment used in drilling operations, ensuring optimal performance.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on engines, generators, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance checks.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Conduct emergency repairs as necessary.
Equipment Inspections: Regularly inspect all mechanical equipment, identifying potential problems and implementing corrective actions.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Complete daily logs and reports as required.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations.
Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Collaboration: Work closely with the drilling crew and other personnel to ensure seamless operations.
Communicate effectively regarding equipment status and any issues encountered.
Training: Assist in training new crew members on the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a Motor Man or in a similar role within the offshore oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
Working Conditions: Environment: Offshore drilling rig with exposure to extreme weather conditions.
