The post will require an energetic individual with drive and determination to begin in January 2025.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION ARE:A professional teaching qualification (PGCE)A current SACE registrationTeaching experience in GET and FET phases will be advantageousKnowledge of the Grade12 IEB assessment guidelines is advantageous, together with an understanding of the CAPS curriculumCompetence in the appropriate use of music technology as a tool for teaching and learning, as well as other technology that might benefit classroom teachingExcellent organisational skillsExperience in working with school orchestra and/or jazz bands is essentialKnowledge of music technology would advantageousIndividual instrumental teaching will be required in at least two instrumentsInstrumental proficiency is essential preferably in saxophone and/or brass instrumentsPrior experience assisting with school events and music department productionsThe successful candidate will be required to provide a police clearance certificate and be cleared on the Sexual Offenders Register.A willingness to support the Christian ethos and values of MichaelhouseDUTIES WILL INCLUDE:Teaching a range of Music classes,Involvement in a variety of co-curricular and pastoral duties within the school.Housing will be provided on or near the Michaelhouse estate in order to facilitate full involvement in the school programme.Only suitably qualified candidates will be considered.
