Observability Architect Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Observability Architect to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing observability strategies that enhance the visibility and performance of our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize monitoring, logging, and tracing practices, ensuring we have the insights needed to maintain system reliability and improve user experience. Key Responsibilities: Design and Implementation: Develop and implement observability frameworks that align with business objectives, ensuring comprehensive visibility across all systems and applications. Tool Selection and Integration: Evaluate, select, and integrate observability tools and technologies, ensuring they work effectively with our existing infrastructure. Data Strategy: Define data collection and management strategies, focusing on quality and security of logs, metrics, and traces. Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to understand their observability needs and ensure effective solutions are in place. Best Practices: Establish and promote best practices for observability within the organization, including instrumentation guidelines and monitoring standards. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously assessing and refining our observability strategy. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experienced in observability, monitoring, or related fields. Proficiency with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Jaeger). Strong understanding of microservices architecture, cloud environments, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with data processing and management tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Splunk Core Certified Advanced Power User, Elastic Certified Observability Engineer). Experience with incident management and troubleshooting in production environments. Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
