Roster members will be contacted only when there is an emergency-response need for which the responder is qualified.
This position will not be compensated unless responders are deployed to an emergency response.Job Description:JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Information Officer is to set up and manage voice and data communication systems, connectivity to information management systems (e.g.
Deltek), data display systems, asset tracking of ICT equipment, and general technology support.MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure all customer service obligations are fulfilled, including performing site surveys and VSAT antenna installation.Take actions to ensure the operational quality of system equipment and assist with problem-solving of technical issues.Operate professionally and safely, with an understanding of country onboard protocols.Provide guidance and training to customers and liaise with vendors and IT teams.Configuration, testing, and fault finding of satellite modems and related equipment.Assembly of stabilized antennas and troubleshooting of onboard communication services.Provide assistance to Senior Field Technicians during installation and maintenance of satellite systems.Travel to customer sites overseas, often at short notice.Comply with all safety requirements implemented by employer or customers.Complete all required paperwork accurately and obtain proper approvals.General: Deployed personnel are expected to assist with the setup, maintenance, and demobilization of clinical spaces and base camps as required.Policy Adherence:Promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards.Adhere to the Code of Conduct and maintain humanitarian principles.Perform other duties as assigned.Code of Conduct: Promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the organization.Safeguarding: It is all staff's shared responsibility to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work.Equal Opportunities: International Medical Corps is proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and qualified applicants.Job Requirements:Typically, a University degree in Information Communication or Technology role.Typically, 3+ years of relevant experience with VSAT systems.Microsoft/Cisco certification(s) preferred.Working knowledge of satellite communication devices.Experience in virus and malware removal.Experience in hardware repair of desktops, laptops, and servers.Excellent computer hardware, software, and networking troubleshooting skills.Knowledge of WAN/LAN/Wireless networks and security protocols.Excellent interpersonal skills.Fluency in written and spoken English is required; fluency in Spanish, French, or Arabic is desirable.Additional Technical or Language Requirements: Candidates can expect to be living and working in austere conditions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
