ICM People is seeking an experienced Offshore Rig Superintendent for one of our biggest Oil & Gas Drilling clients to oversee drilling operations on offshore rigs in the waters off Rio de Janeiro.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drilling operations, safety management, and team leadership within the oil and gas industry.
This role involves ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective drilling activities while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee all drilling operations on assigned offshore rigs, ensuring adherence to operational plans and timelines.
Safety Leadership: Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety audits and drills.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor drilling personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless operations.
Budget Management: Develop and manage operational budgets for drilling projects, ensuring cost-effective practices without compromising safety or quality.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor drilling performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing improvements as needed to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on drilling operations, safety incidents, and performance metrics to senior management.
Crisis Management: Act as the primary point of contact for emergency response situations on the rig, coordinating actions and communications during incidents.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role on offshore rigs.
Strong knowledge of drilling technologies, techniques, and best practices.
Proven track record in safety management and regulatory compliance.
Fluency in Portuguese and English is required; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
