Wabtec is hiring an Operations & Technology (O&T) Leader to coordinate a team effort to identify and execute maintenance cost reduction projects for the Global Services Organization (GSO) considering all areas of opportunities related to locomotives components maintenance which includes, but not limited to providing technical expertise, leadership and guidance.
In this role, the professional will influence cross-functional teams, lead innovative loco maintenance cost projects, and be accountable for the short and long-term results of a multi-million-dollar project portfolio.
- Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the team in the development of projects through the scoping, active, and cut-in phases to successful project implementation;
- Support a cross-functional team from Services, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Risk, and external suppliers to meet all project execution milestones (Such as; tollgates, Durability Analysis, Reliability Risk Assessment, PPAP, design reviews, and part creation) ahead of schedule;
- Support the Finance Team in the Material cost tracking and analysis of Long-Term Contracts
- Drive internal execution of detailed project plans to meet large project targets and maintain and continuously improve the tools and data available for the team, like Field Reports (RC), Inspection Data, Maintenance schedule updated in the Doors system, etc;
- Facilitate communication within the team, as needed, to achieve milestones and professionally manage communications with internal / external project stakeholders;
- Identify risks to project execution, schedule, or valuation and facilitate the mitigation of those risks with the appropriate team;
- Continually develop a network of resources in support of project execution including goals deployment and tracking;
- Identify opportunities to expand the project in ways that bring value to our customer and satisfy our profitability requirements;
- Manage the projects budget (investment and expenses) and timeline, to ensure the resources are available to complete the projects within budget and on time in order to meet customer obligations;
- Professionally represent Wabtec during all customer and supplier interactions;
- Foster an environment that promotes team members development;
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university;
- Proven experience in an Engineering or Project Management role;
- Strong understanding of supply chain and shop operations
- Willingness to travel 20% of the time, both domestic and internationally;
- Fluency in English Language.
