Drawing inspiration from its rich heritage as an inventor company, Baker Hughes harnesses the passion and expertise of its people to improve productivity throughout the entire oil and gas value chain.Partner with the bestAs an Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for:Overseeing database installations, configurations, and upgrades, ensuring optimal performance and availabilityDeveloping and implementing Ansible playbooks and Python scripts to automate database administration tasks, including provisioning, configuration, and maintenance, enhancing efficiency and consistency across environmentsPerforming advanced performance tuning and optimization for Oracle databases, including query performance, instance tuning, and resource managementPlanning and executing Oracle database version upgrades and patching, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to best practicesDeveloping and maintaining upgrade and patching procedures to support continuous improvementsUtilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to automate database administration tasks, including patching, provisioning, and monitoringImplementing and managing comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availabilityOverseeing and managing SQL Server licensing, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and optimizing license usage to meet organizational needs and budgetary constraintsMonitoring and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilitiesWorking closely with application and infrastructure teams to design and implement database solutions that support business needsProviding expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex database issues, participating in on-call rotation as neededMaintaining detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changesGenerating and analyzing reports on database performance, usage, and issuesTo be successful in this role you will:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).A minimum 7-8 years of professional working experience as an Oracle DBA, with significant expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, and pluggable databases.Advanced knowledge of Oracle database architecture, including installation, configuration, and maintenanceProficiency in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security managementExpertise in using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for automation and monitoring.Experience with shell scripting and automation tools for database administration.Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (Azure, AWS) and DevOps principles is a plus.Proven experience in maintaining and managing Oracle licensing, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements.Have fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish are desirable.Work in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
