Mt. Bachelor strives to deliver Central Oregon's most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors on a year-round basis. Mt. Bachelor's 365 days of fun includes 4,300 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, Woodward Mountain Parks, a world-class Nordic Center, summer and fall downhill biking in the Mt. Bachelor Bike Park, Sun Country Tours (white water rafting), hiking, Sunset Dinners, Zip-Touring and chairlift-accessible sightseeing.
Position Summary
Responsible for setting up and maintaining a functioning parking structure. Parking cars, RVs, and buses within that structure while maintaining working traffic lanes.
- Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities- Set out traffic cones, ropes, cone bars and signage in the morning to control parking areas.-
- Pick up traffic cones, ropes, cone bars and signage in the afternoon as needed.-
- Maintain evenly spaced traffic lanes and designated parking areas throughout the day.-
- Maintain functioning signage; replace as necessary.-
- Manage special parking areas, such as paid parking, as directed.- Secondary Function-
- Remove snow from emergency exits around lodges, and other areas. Clear snow overhangs or block off areas on parking-lot-adjacent sides of buildings.-
- Litter pickup in all parking areas and other duties as assigned.-
- Replenish cinders, spread cinders as needed to promote safe walking areas.-
- Staff paid parking areas and collect parking fees using electronic card readers, to be returned to Parking Supervisor or Parking Manager at end of operations.-
- Stock supplies in Dog Park area and remove waste as needed.-
- Assisting guests with jump starts, performing lock out services and other duties as assigned.- Job Scope- Staff is responsible for maintaining functioning parking areas. Hours are early mornings to late afternoon, with midday usually free for ski-ride breaks. May be assigned additional duties and responsibilities including:- Drive parking truck (s) as needed on Mt. Bachelor property and up/down to Bend to keep work schedule and execute parking lot operations.-
- Assisting Parking Supervisors and Parking Manager with daily operations, safety and special projects as assigned.- Interpersonal Contacts- First contact with guests as they arrive at Mt. Bachelor. Parking Attendants have interactions with guests, other parking attendants, Mt. Dispatch and other departments. Parking Attendants should possess the ability to relate to, and communicate with, guests and other employees and should have good mountain knowledge to answer guest questions. Radio communication with the Parking Staff, and other departments as needed.- Specific Job Skills-
- License/Certifications: Current and valid driver's license required. ATV Certificate, if required
Technical: Use of electronic scanner & card reader
Physical Capabilities: This is an outside position that requires good physical condition and the ability to be on your feet for long periods of time in all weather conditions.
Additional: Must have excellent guest service skills.
- Education/Related Experience-
Minimum education required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
-Minimum time in related position: Resort experience and/or experience exposed to inclement weather is preferred.
