Part Time Staff Accountant - Contract

TapGoods :: TapGoods is an exciting start-up that is revolutionizing how rental companies optimize and grow their businesses. We're working to make it easy to rent. There are tens of thousands of businesses in the US that provide event, tool, audiovisual, and recreation rentals. This fragmented $1 trillion global industry has not yet adopted modern systems and instead relies on pen & paper or cobbles together dated technology solutions. We're building a solution that modernizes and dramatically improves the rental process for both businesses and their customers. Staff Accountant Role :: We are looking for a number-loving accountant who is self-sufficient and a super star when it comes to attention to detail. This role will be part-time working approximately 10-20 hours per week, noting that the beginning of the month is a heavier workload than the last 2 weeks of the month. Responsibilities • Perform routine accounting functions including monthly close of books using QuickBooks Online • Complete monthly and quarterly manual calculations for various commission structures • Maintain client list spreadsheets and handle revenue recognition • Assist in payroll tax inquiries and set ups • Assemble periodic sales tax returns • Assist in payroll preparation and submission, along with HR related inquiries • Ad hoc accounting or similarly Operational projects Requirements • 3+ years of accounting experience • 3+ years of QuickBooks Online experience • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work appropriately • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and adapt to changes in process • A great attitude • A great work ethic • Solution-oriented • Self-starter This is a remote, part-time, ongoing contractor role.
