Patent Paralegal Project ManagerLegalSight is an exciting legal services firm at the crossroads of global innovation.
We are looking to expand our team which supports the international patent filing needs of clients around the globe.
This team specializes in products, software, and services to assist with patent and trademark application processes, including filing, renewals, and translations.As a Patent Paralegal Project Manager, you will be collaborating with and supporting our team which focuses on the prosecution phase of patent applications.
You would be responsible for the filing processes for EP, PCT, and foreign patent applications.This is a full-time, fully remote position, working with an international remote team.
Working hours will be Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm BRT for the training period and then will switch to Monday - Friday 11:00am - 7:00pm BRT.
(As we are a U.S.-based company, working hours will be adjusted during daylight savings time.)
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for this role as you would be collaborating with and supporting team members and clients internationally.In this role, you will be responsible for:Preparing all documents required in connection with EP, PCT and foreign applications.Proactively initiating the preparation of responses to official communications and notifications.Coordinating filings of EP/international and foreign patent applications and related correspondence from filing to issuance of grant.Monitoring all assigned cases and proactively ensuring that all related deadlines are met in a timely manner.Essential skills and experience required:At least 1-2 years of experience as a patent paralegal in either a law firm or corporate setting.Experience filing EP, PCT and foreign patent applications.Strong organization skills.Significant experience managing complex projects.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Successful track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsStrong experience implementing translation tools into existing workflows.Comfort working with CAT tools (memoQ fluency a plus) and various Machine Translation engines.Ability to define processes and standards for translation and quality assurance.Skilled at training internal and external users in MTPE & TM workflows.Skilled at vendor recruitment and negotiations.
