Financial Director for a South African company that is part of an international group headquartered in Europe that has revolutionized the state of the art in water transportation.
You will lead and build the finance and administration department and support the company's 5-year growth plan to double turnover.
The South African subsidiary has grown significantly in the last 8 years producing the most innovative technology in the world and aims to keep growing by increasing volume and product range.
Our client's main mission is to provide the market with efficient systems for the water transportation that protect the environment and contribute to improving well-being through the optimal use of water resources.
**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: CFO (Group Financial Director), Group Business Operations Manager and Plant General Manager/Director of SA Company.
Reporting, total staff compliment: Financial Department and Sales Administration
Key internal relationships: CFO Group (International) Plant GM (Director)in South Africa Other departments in the company in South Africa Administration/Finance team in South Africa Business Operations (International)
Key external relationships: Banks, audit firms, government, suppliers, customer.
Primary Purpose: Responsible for the finance department and the financial strategy of the South African company. Directs financial management, controls economic resources and contributes to the development of sound financial strategies that promote the growth and profitability of the company. Support for the ongoing capital expansion of the factory.
Job description / core competencies:
Management of balance sheet operations.
Manage treasury, financing, and relations with third parties: Banks, auditors, tax office, etc.
Management of the BBBEE strategy and audits in collaboration with local partners.
Oversee and validate the subsidiary's management control: planning, budget, reporting.
Participate in the improvement or establishment of management information systems.
Performing analysis of industrial and financial investments.
Supervise the internal administrative and financial team and contribute to the implementation of new rules and regulations.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
University degree in one of the following fields: Accounting, Finance or Administration, preferably with an MBA degree.
Confident with accounting software, ERP, and tools such as Excel.
Very good knowledge of accounting and tax regulations and principles.
Fluent in English
At least 5 years of experience in developing similar functions in the industrial sector (ideally experience in manufacturing).
High level skills required: communication, initiative, service orientation, teamwork, success orientation, continuous improvement, innovation, customer focus, planning, analysis and reporting, efficient administration. You will need to fit into the company culture, which is highly innovative, flexible, and adaptable.
Recommendations: Person with great analytical skills who is business-oriented and decisive. Strong ability to problem solves and provide timely and accurate solutions is required.
Strong knowledge of accounting, cost and management accounting and internal control systems.
Adjustment period: An adjustment period of 6 to 12 months is considered necessary.

The state-of-the-art production facility, the only one of its kind in Africa, introduced world-class technology that was not available in South Africa. The production facility operates around the clock and currently runs 3 shifts in a relatively unionised environment. The factory employs 80 people. 95% of sales are generated in South Africa, 5% in Mozambique, Namibia and Madagascar.
