A commissioning crew for a FNLG vessel working offshore Western Africa.
**Job Summary**:
The Piping Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of piping systems during the commissioning of the FLNG vessel. They will work closely with the Piping Foreman and other team members to ensure proper functioning of piping networks.
**Responsibilities:
Piping Installation and Assembly:
- Assist in the installation, layout, and assembly of piping systems, including pipes, fittings, valves, and supports, following engineering drawings and specifications. Cut, thread, bend, and join pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on piping systems to ensure proper functioning and longevity. Identify and address issues such as leaks, corrosion, and blockages, and implement necessary repairs.
Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct visual inspections and pressure tests on piping systems to identify defects, leaks, and structural issues. Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
Welding and Fabrication:
- Assist in welding and fabricating pipe components as needed, following welding procedures and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with welders and fabricators to ensure proper connections and joints.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of piping installations, repairs, inspections, and modifications. Complete required paperwork and reports associated with piping operations.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with piping systems. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures to prevent accidents.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to coordinate piping activities and address issues. Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on work progress and challenges.
Tools and Equipment Management:
- Properly use, handle, and maintain tools and equipment related to piping operations. Report any malfunctioning tools or equipment to supervisors for repair or replacement.
**Qualifications**:
- Technical diploma or equivalent in Piping or Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant experience (3+ years) in piping commissioning and maintenance. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
**Essential Requirements**
- Previous offshore experience
- Experience working on a project (commissioning/construction/hookup)
- Need to be comfortable working offshore for 2-3 months
- Valid Passport
- Possess the following certifications: BOSIET/FOET, OGUK Medical, Yellow Fever card, Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
