Job SummaryThe Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach is looking for a full-time Teacher for children ages 3 – 5 years old in our Preschool and/or TK programs. This individual would teach and provide care in a classroom with the support of the Preschool Team. Responsibilities Ability to plan, prepare, and implement preschool curriculum.Develop and implement instructional and recreational activities according to the needs of the children and preschool policy.Instruct and supervise children of the ages of 3 – 5 years old.Observe, evaluate, and record child's development.Redirect behavior with a positive reinforcement approach.Prepare for and conduct parent teacher conferences.Assist with the supervision of Preschool Teacher Assistants, Aids, and Volunteers when needed. Requirements Must have 24 units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development including core courses and 16 GE units or a Preschool Teacher Permit from the California Commission on Teaching CredentialingA minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in a preschool settingComplete a Tuberculosis test and a physical exam and provide a physician's documentation of both.Proof of MMR, Pertussis, and Influenza ImmunizationsComplete a Live Scan and pass a background check prior to employment. Preferred Qualifications CPR and First Aid CertifiedFluent in more than one language is a plus.Prior experience with play-based learningFamiliar with California Preschool Learning Foundations and NAEYC teaching standards Why you'll love working at our center
