**Job Purpose**
Primary responsibilities include price reporting and writing industry news and market reviews for Fastmarkets Forest Products.
Work would include analysing current market conditions, collecting pricing data and assessing markets prices and developing a network of reliable industry contacts.
Additional responsibilities include writing news stories and assisting with the editing or publishing of weekly news & price service.
This position is for a reporter based in São Paulo, Brazil.
**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Assessing prices in assigned markets.
- Write market stories as needed to explain pricing developments, as well as cover other relevant industry event, including those that affect the markets.
- Work as needed on online news relevant to the industry for the website as often as needed.
- Travel and attend conferences and visit mills as needed and related to the industry that are important to the company and to the markets covered.
- Continually develop sources and contacts important for understanding market pricing and market news.
**KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:
- Writing and analytical skills.
- Fluent Spanish, Portuguese and English are mandatory for the position.
All stories will be written in English.
- Native-Spanish, extensive knowledge about Latin American economy (excluding Brazil) is a plus.
- Experience with business journalism is a plus.
- Strong news writing and interviewing skills, ability to analyze market and business conditions and work with statistics.
- Ability to gather market intelligence and develop networks of industry contacts.
- Achieve a high level of accuracy while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment on multiple projects.
