BHP's CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan's history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.PurposeThe Principal Project Engineer is responsible for fulfilling a broad scope of responsibilities across the project lifecycle from concept to handover, including engineering design oversight, development of technical, contractual and commercial requirements through to tender, execution management, and closeout. This role will develop and manage project scopes, budgets, plans and schedules, supporting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses where required, and will follow BHP's project management framework and management of change process.Work LocationThis role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. Flexibility to work from the Saskatoon office for a period prior to relocating is available.About the RoleIn this role, you will:Manage a suite of projects from concept through handover using BHP's small project management framework.Conduct engineering tasks, verify construction methodologies and advise on engineering decisions for projects in alignment with Project/Construction/Commissioning Engineering Standards.Assess change impacts to prepare integrated change management plans, manage change readiness and resistance, and upskill leaders and impacted stakeholders in the adoption and successful delivery of the change.Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.Identify and assess risks, make risk-informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework and build a risk-aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.Plan, track the delivery of and manage a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.About YouBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is advantageous.Demonstrated experience in the potash industry, with an aptitude for managing small scale projects.Experience managing contract resources in a brownfield environment.Robust written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at various levels within the business.High attention to detail, motivation, and commitment to quality outcomes.Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment with ability to respond to changing priorities at multiple levels of the organization.Application Closing DateThis posting will be active until 11:59pm CST on December 2, 2024.About our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
