Role reports to: Senior Manager R&D -Skin Health Location: Brazil - SJC Travel %: 0% Pay: (If compliant with country laws) What you will do The Principal Scientist is responsible for conducting research of a complex nature towards the identification, assessment, and development of new scientific concepts and technologies.
You will work independently to analyze situations or data and make timely technical decisions while ensuring quality conduct of projects.
Additionally, you will modify methodology to improve the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of data and record information obtained in projects accurately: Key Responsibilities • Lead and conduct scientific research in the field of Skin Health focusing on Face & Body Projects utilizing advanced techniques and methodologies.
• Design and execute experiments to investigate and analyze complex scientific problems, and develop innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement scientific strategies and initiatives.
• Communicate scientific findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including presenting at conferences and publishing in scientific journals.
• Mentor and train junior scientists, providing guidance and support to facilitate their technical growth and development.
• Lead and direct research efforts towards the identification, assessment, and development of new scientific concepts and technologies in alignment with the role of Principal Scientist.
• Continuously improve the development of new or refined materials, processes, products, and scientific procedures in alignment with the general_summary.
• Ensure high-quality conduct of projects, including design, data summary and interpretation, report and manuscript preparation and review, and adherence to applicable regulations, leveraging insights from Duties and top_responsibilities.
• Analyze data and highly complex situations involving the evaluation of tangible and identifiable variables to arrive at creative and effective solutions, leveraging insights from top_responsibilities.
• Make significant contributions at the national level through scientific literature and conferences, leveraging insights from top_responsibilities.
What we are looking for Required Qualifications • Masters Degree or equivalent in relevant field, with 6-8 years of related experience.
• Proven track record of conducting and leading scientific research • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications • Expertise in formulation and methodologies relevant to Skin Health • Experience in a product development setting is desired, leveraging insights from consumer data • Proficiency in cGMPs, word processing programs (e.g., WORD), spreadsheet applications (e.g.
EXCEL), and data-based documentation systems (e.g.
CONNECT, EDM, etc.)
is a preference, • Prior experience in the manual set-up of pilot scale equipment is desired • Strong leadership, with a passion for developing and supporting the technical growth of junior scientists.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required in order to influence global and regional partners in the projects that are conducted.
