Job Overview:
As a
Principal Product Owner
within our Product organization, you will be the driving force behind the successful development and delivery of our construction lifecycle software.
Your primary responsibilities will revolve around understanding customer needs, communicating the product vision to the development team, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver high-quality features.
With your Agile mindset and strong analytical skills, you will play a vital role in translating user requirements into actionable user stories and guiding the development process.
As a senior member of our Product Owner team, you will take the lead on managing our more complex projects, drive definition and enhancements to our SDLC process.
You will also directly manage, mentor and train more junior team members.
Responsibilities:
Understand the customer needs and align them with our product strategy to ensure the software addresses their pain points effectively.
Act as the liaison between the business stakeholders and the development team, communicating the product vision and strategic direction to ensure alignment.
Establish priorities for the team based on strategic product manager's direction (epics) and the overall product roadmap.
Collaborate with product designers to translate user needs into the final product, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Collect detailed requirements and create clear, actionable user stories to guide the development process.
Review stories and requirements with the development team, ensuring they have a clear understanding and clarifying when needed.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the team is working on the most valuable features and improvements.
Work closely with the development team to plan out sprints, ensuring stories are complete and meeting the acceptance criteria.
Participate actively in all scrum meetings and activities, including daily scrum, story refinement, sprint planning, demo, release planning, deployment meetings, and retrospectives.
Lead and organize scrum meetings such as story refinement and demo, ensuring the team is well-prepared for discussions and reviews.
Collaborate with Dev Leads to determine appropriate release packages, considering the product strategy and goals.
Provide inputs during deployment meetings to ensure a smooth release process and successful deployment of features.
Act as project manager for key projects related to your functional area, defining the strategy for complex project execution.
Directly manage and/or provide guidance to more junior team members, including mentoring and onboarding.
Spearhead the definition, implementation and enhancement of standard work processes.
Demonstrate ability to solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
Exhibit expertise in your functional area as well as knowledge of related disciplines.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience in a related field.
10+ years experience
working in an Agile Scrum methodology, serving as a Product Owner or a similar role in a SAAS company.
Experience with Agile Project Management tools like JIRA, Aha, or similar.
Additional Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Certified Product Owner.
Knowledge of the construction industry or related domains is a plus.
