Summary:
The Process Engineer will lead process activities in investment projects, focusing on production process optimization (capacity, quality and cost) through technology innovation and improvements on existing processes.
Responsibilities:
Develop new processes and improve existing ones.
Support the production team in evaluating efficiency on existing processes, bottlenecking, and process deviation.
Manage process discipline according to engineering best practices (Mass balance, P&IDs, equipment data sheet, process description, etc).
Ensure proper updates on internal documents.
Elaborate schedules and spending curves for new projects.
Ensure that management of changes are part of the project (MOC).
Lead multidisciplinary projects, ensuring all disciplines are covered and properly aligned.
Coordinate internal and external engineering resources.
Evaluate new projects and modifications on existing processes, considering environmental, safety and health, process safety, cGMP, food safety, and quality impacts by process hazards analysis (HAZOPs, What If).
Occasionally lead mechanical and electrical activities when implementing smaller projects on site.
Responsible for procedures, training, and start-ups when leading projects.
Carry out work in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and work instructions, applying the SGQSA requirements and HSMS standards adopted by the company.
Report issues related to SGQSA to the managing director and the quality department.
Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of SGQSA.
Align CAPEX spending and prioritization with the engineering manager.
Promote good communication between the engineering team and other departments.
Align project prioritization between department requests and the engineering manager.
Requirements:
University Degree in Chemical or Food Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience as a process engineer, production engineer, or similar.
Certificate in Project Management (not mandatory).
Strong knowledge in Unity Operations.
Some knowledge of process hazard analysis tools.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical and automation.
Experience with PI software, MS Project, and SAP is a differential.
Teamwork is a key qualification in this role.
Excellent communication and organization skills, including establishing procedures, systems, and presentations.
Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Flexibility and ability to manage priority changes.
