Summary The Process Quality and Heat Treatment Engineer will coordinate, maintain and implement problem solutions tools about grinding and machining process and also metallurgical activities related to induction heat treatment with a focus on preservation, complying with the product requirements with the standards established according to the specific requirements of the client, in addition to coordinating the internal and external audits of the CQI-9.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Monitor and support changes in operational procedures and required documentation.
• Develop and implement quality and metallurgical laboratory inspection programs and methods, including monitoring, analysis and reporting of process data after SOP.
Carry out process and product audits at grinding, machining, and metallurgical process, for compliance with product requirements and process specifications.
• Attention to the internal and external audits of CQI-9 and coordinate the maintenance of the documentation itself.
• Works with the production cell and teams to implement new test, method and inspection criteria.
• Identify weaknesses in production processes.
Monitors, supports, and facilitates actions to reduce costs and scrap.
Identify training needs to operational team.
• Responsible for ensuring that the control plans at grinding, machining, and metallurgical process are fulfilled, ensuring that in case of something out of specification, coordinate the containment in conjunction with Operations.
• Statistical analysis of the process / product.
• Develop process validation in tooling changes, new projects or process improvements.
Responsible for the implementation of corrective actions related to the process.
• Responsible for quality-related production documentation at grinding, machining, and metallurgical process.
• Research in metallurgical failure analysis.
• Promotes improvement processes in heat treatment, grinding and machining process also in charge to reduce scrap.
• Monitors and reports important issues or events identified during quality assurance activities and actions taken to improve the situation.
• Responsible for quality assurance training for production personnel and metallurgical laboratory equipment.
• Routinely review inspection data to ensure conformity according to the control plan.
• Has authority to stop processes to correct quality, safety, or environmental problems, identify and place suspicious products on hold for quality, and immediately notify Supervisory staff when processes do not meet requirements.

• Statistical skills: able to collect, analysis and share results about process data.
• English ability to speak, write and communicate is strongly desirable.
Qualifications /Education • Concluded Engineer degree.
• Knowledge and Experience in CQI 9, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 specific customer requirements.
• Knowledge in QM Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP).
• Knowledge and Experience with FMEA and SPC.
• Knowledge with Problem Solving Methodologies (5Whys, 8Ds, Ishikawa, etc.).
• Knowledge with GD&T.
• Microstructure analysis Martensite, retained austenite, pearlite, and spheroidized.
Sample preparation (cutting, encapsulation and polishing) necessary.
• Hardness tests (HRC, HB and HRV) Experience Necessary.
• Magnaflux and Penetrant Liquid Testing desirable.
