This role elicits requirements, evaluates options, and provides direction on implementation.The Product Owner must understand stakeholder requirements and how Landis+Gyr solutions fit into these requirements.
The Product Owner analyzes feature requirements for products or product lines and transforms requirements into development work items.The ideal candidate will have either previous device and device management experience or cloud and analytics experience.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze functional and stakeholder requirements to produce optimized user storiesPresent system capabilities to stakeholders and 3rd party partnersManage requirements, user stories and traceability through the product lifecycleUnderstand, interpret, and rationalize solutions to complex problemsWork in diverse cross functional development teams including resources both foreign and domesticWork closely with Product Managers and other Product Owners to ensure features/user stories meet the acceptance criteria of the requirements provided by Product ManagementWork with System Architects on design and architecture of system solutionsWork with software QA teams to ensure test cases cover all the scenarios required for testing features and user storiesWork with Documentation team to provide technical details and review customer facing release documents such as user guides and release notesParticipate in various sprint/iteration meetings as well as facilitate meetings with development teams when requiredProactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver the artifacts such as Functional Requirements, User stories, Use Cases, UI Screens, Interface designs, etc.Create new and maintain existing documentation as new requirements are introduced and implementedSupport and adhere to Company's Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.Perform other duties as assigned or required.Education and ExperienceRequired Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's degreeDesired Education/Experience:Experience as a Business Analyst/Systems Analyst/Product Owner in a wide variety of project sizesMulti-dimensional (diverse) product development experience is a plusThe Product Owner may have experience with any of the following:RF CommunicationsComputer NetworkingMessage Bus or Streaming (Kafka)Azure DevOps formerly Team Foundation Server (TFS) or equivalentConfluence/WikiKnowledge of the utility industry (Electric, Gas, Water)Machine Learning and Cloud AnalyticsCloud technologies (preferably GCP's offerings)Required/Desired Certifications:Preferred "Product Owner" certificationKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience defining or understanding software requirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with 3rd party partners on a daily basis.Ability to convey complex topics to management, stakeholders and the software development teamsAbility to work in small teams, as well as independently, with minimal supervisionAbility to create new and maintain existing documentation.Self-starter, well organized and ability to work following processes and methodologiesWorking knowledge of Azure DevOps /TFSGood working knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Visio)We're committed to shaping a better future for everyone.
