We are looking for a dynamic Product Owner to join our International Higher Education product management team.
Reporting to the Product Manager, the aim is to understand the needs and challenges of the market in Brazil and other Latin American countries.
The aim is to develop high-value digital products and services within a given portfolio.
Responsible for providing overall product management leadership, establishing a strategic vision for your portfolio, hiring and managing subject matter experts, setting budgets, seeking market feedback and ensuring effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and build a profitable, balanced and up-to-date portfolio.
Manage relationships and communications between authors and subjects.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Product, Sales and Marketing, Learning Effectiveness and Research teams to innovate and create products that improve student outcomes.
Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of Pearson's digital courseware product models and feature sets.
Lead and manage research activity to maintain understanding of educator and student needs.
Identify, understand and represent subject, educator and student needs in your portfolio.
Identify customer/student problems to be solved and the size of the opportunity, identify possible solutions and test the solution to the problem and the product's suitability for the market.
Identify competitors for new and existing products and carry out analysis to inform business cases and product plans.
Build and maintain an understanding of the challenges and needs of educators and students in Brazil.
Use data as an integral part of the product development process.
Act as an ambassador for your portfolio, generating excitement and enthusiasm internally and externally.
Minimum Requirements:
Good understanding of the product management process.
Experience with editorial processes.
Extensive understanding of education and learning, preferably from higher education.
Experience of working directly with customers, building relationships and developing communities, both in person and online.
Entrepreneurship and the ability to use your own initiative and judgment and to make appropriate decisions.
Ability to set priorities to fulfill the portfolio's strategy, ensuring that it remains on track to achieve its strategic objectives.
Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams and in a fast-paced environment.
Creative thinking and empathy with the client/learner.
Exceptional communication, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
Excellent communication skills in both English (written and spoken).
Availability to attend the office for occasional meetings, previously arranged with the area's leadership.
Familiarity with developing digital content and designing instructions.
