IUCN Sri Lanka's programs support sustainable natural resource management initiatives of Members and Partners.Under the financial assistance of Global Fund for Coral Reef (GFCR), IUCN receives funding for the Phase I of the 6-year project to establish Sri Lanka Coral Reef initiative.
The proposed project aims to identify stable coral reefs and empower multiple stakeholders towards protecting those coral reefs from extinction by unlocking finances, innovative partnerships, use of technology, and best practices to reduce pressure on healthy coral reef ecosystems that demonstrate resilience to climate change.To support effective delivery of intended outputs of the Phase I of the project, development of the subsequent Phases of the project, assist project cycle management and assist professional networking with Government, Private Sector and other stakeholder entities, IUCN seeks a suitable candidate for the position of the Project Associate (PA).
The candidate will be locally recruited and be responsible for assisting the project manager, including the following key responsibilities and specific duties.JOB DESCRIPTIONKEY RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the direct guidance of the Programme Coordinator and overall supervision of the Project Manager (PM), the project associate is required to provide day-to-day administration and management support on achieving the main outcomes of the project.SPECIFIC DUTIESProvide day-to-day management and administration support to the project manager to implement project activities.Ensure smooth and coherent project activity implementation including procurement, transport, project communication, documentation, and event organizing.Draft communication materials such as workshop minutes, correspondence letters, newsletters, web stories, brochures, and factsheets for a broad range of audiences.Support other coastal and marine related project activities under the guidance of the programme coordinator.REQUIREMENTSCompetencies:Excellent communication and coordination skills.Excellent ability to record keeping, multitasking and meet deadlines.Excellent skills on organizing events, workshops, webinars, and stakeholder consultation.Excellent skills on networking and achieving tasks with minimum supervision.Excellent ability to work with co-workers and other team members to achieve common goals of the project.Education:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or Diploma level qualification with 6 years of working experience in a related field also considered.Experience:For graduates, at least 3 years of work experience in office administration or project management.
