**Project Cost Controller**
**PURPOSE OF POSITION**
This role is responsible for the overall financial/cost control, accounting and reporting of all commercial projects. This person should ensure the project is managed to the contractual commercial terms stipulated and ensure correct project accounting is applied at month end. This role is pivotal in working as a business partner with the project teams with the ultimate goal of maximizing the company's contracts, cost control, project profitability and cash generation through successful commercial management of contracts through identification of opportunities and mitigation of any risks.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Health & Safety**

**Contract Management**
- Commercially manage multiple projects from receipt of award until final account stage and in conjunction with Project Delivery Manager, assume responsibility for delivery of the expected Project margin.
- Review and interpret contracts ensuring compliance and with the aim to ensure maximum potential is realised.
- Monitor and review weekly site report, to ensure final forecasts keep up to date, to ensure billing will be accurate and for timely identification of Change orders.
- Build positive relationships with customers to improve opportunities of repeat business and additional scopes.
**Commercial Forecasting**
- Preparation of weekly & monthly forecasting of projects profitability and cashflow in line with business requirements.
- Prepare & populate revenue, revenue accruals, reserves to the project cost account on a monthly basis ensuring Revenue Recognition policy & Project accounting is followed, with support from Finance if any clarification is required.
- Ensure a summary of the position of each contract is prepared at month end providing explanation of any variances to forecast for revenue during the month end close process.
- Undertake detailed formal project reviews monthly to understand and explain profitability compared to bid and forecast
- Seek out opportunities/ risks, but also provide feedback to project delivery and proposals teams to take decisive action to mitigate any overspend/ provide accurate pricing. Present project profitability to Senior Management Team monthly.
**Debt Collection and Cashflow Forecasting**
- Liaise with credit controller with regards to updating on a weekly basis timing of receipts for debt, latest billings on projects & retentions. Support in the preparation of a weekly 13-week cashflow for receipts for Trade Receivables, Retentions and unbilled.
- Support with ad hoc analysis of projects as and when required.
- Support in the provision of financial evidence for internal or external audits as and when required.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Education Required:
- Graduate/Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent preferred.
- Part Qualified Accountant and/or recently qualified accountant 2PQE
**Work Experience Required**:
- Background in contracts/project accounting is essential
- Experience in commercial project management
- Previous experience of managing a multi-million-dollar project P&Ls
- Project accounting experience
- Cashflow & Project Profitability forecasting experience
- Administration background
