Position Summary
The Project Manager - Study, under the direction of the Area Project Managers, will develop the roadmap of growth projects required to meet business requirements.
This includes meeting the planned production ramp-up profile and managing the front-end loading engineering from Gate 1 to Gate 4, at which point the projects go to into execution.
This position will also track planned and actual project cost, schedule and benefits/ramp-up curves.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop the portfolio of projects that will enable the business to meet its expansion targets.- Liaise with the Technology &Innovation and Engineering functions to incorporate the latest technology development into designs, and direct required test programs.- Facilitate design and risk reviews to ensure that safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability are integrated into the technical designs.- Direct the activities and sign off on deliverables of engineering contractors and consultants.- Facilitate operations signoffs on engineering designs and expected benefits prior to final investment decision.- Manage the technical interfaces, for projects already in execution, with project managers.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree in technical area such as chemical, mechanical, electrical or metallurgical engineering is preferred.- Experience in engineering or engineering management in the heavy industry is preferred.- A proven track record in study management/front end project management is preferred.- Proficient in English.
Other languages are an asset.
