Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution.
The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Job Description
The EHS Engineer for Projects and Services is responsible for providing day-to-day EHS support for assigned activities (service and large project work) across Hydro LATAM.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop strong working relationship with operational and project manager of the assigned sites.
Drive the expected EHS culture across all operations.
Act as support liaison for all assigned sites in helping comply with regulatory requirements.
Ensure all operations are carried out in compliance with applicable regulatory and GEV requirements.
Understand EHS contractual requirements.
Conduct Site kick-off EHS visit to check site EHS conditions and coach the site team as needed in site EHS Plan implementation.
Conduct regular inspections of assigned sites to ensure safety rules and procedures are followed.
Conduct deep audits in line with the business audit plan, with rigor and consistency, to identify deficiencies and drive improvements in the management of EHS.
Support EHS management of chemicals for Hydro P&S: conduct approval of new chemicals, manage Safety Data Sheet digital databank, etc.
Support the LATAM Region in driving continuous improvement in EHS programs, and the way they are implemented across sites.
Review, analyze and evaluate effectiveness of existing programs and recommend necessary improvements.
Support the Sub-regions in maintaining accreditation across assigned sites.
Identify, support the hiring of, then manage and develop Site based EHS staffing for sites assigned to them.
Drive increased use of Digital Programs and tools across assigned sites, aligned with Hydro Global.
Conduct investigations and analysis of all accidents or hazardous situations.
Identify trends and causes, as well as follow up on corrective and preventative actions.
Deliver EHS trainings to assigned sites population as required.
Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy.
Participate in Sub-Region data-analytics for LATAM Region.
Support LATM EHS Organization in ITO, ISO Process, Framework, EHS Cultural Program, Contractor Safety and regulatory applicability.
Be the GEV Learning EHS point of contact for LATAM Region.
Coordinate the EHS Onboarding for the Region.
Conduct ITO reviews and assess EHS requirements and risks, as requested to support the business being successful in gaining orders.
Lead the ISO 14001 accreditation across his/her region.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
5+ years EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in a Projects or Services environment.
Knowledge of Energy business is a plus.
Knowledge of Brazil EHS legislation.
Ability to travel up to 50%, as required.
Fluent in English & Portuguese – Any other language will be appreciated.
Strong leadership and influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues with competing priorities.
High energy, self-starter, motivated and solution maker.
Practical experience in risk elimination and project management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
High skills in Pack Office.
