We partner cross-company to help advance the blockchain project, improve our products (hardware device, wallet app, and Proof of Personhood), and ensure regulatory compliance in areas such as securities, AML/CFT, consumer protection, trade, IP, and labor, among others. About the OpportunityThis is a unique role offering the opportunity to shape and execute strategic public policy engagement and on-the-ground expansion initiatives of a complex global initiative. Reporting to the Global Head of Public Policy, the Brazil Public Policy Manager is an instrumental member of the team - charting strategic growth opportunities, developing new governmental and community partnerships, and interfacing directly with government officials and third-party partners in Brazil. You will join a team of visionaries seeking to quickly expand Tools for Humanity's reach in a heavily outward-facing and strategic role. The role pulls together input on a range of local legal considerations, including financial/cryptocurrency regulations, data protection & privacy, logistics, and labor & employment and builds and executes cross-functional public policy campaigns across a variety of national, sub-national, and supranational governmental institutions. Moreover, the role is highly cross-functional and will partner closely with our expansion and on-the-ground operations teams. It will also develop close working relationships with our teams responsible for product development, trust & safety, logistics, and legal.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in building partnerships with third-party and government stakeholders and communicating the values of Tools for Humanity to elected officials, regulators, the media, third-party stakeholders, and other key constituencies. You will also be comfortable working in an environment with evolving goals and have an aptitude to overcome obstacles as they arise.
You will:Build and execute a policy engagement strategy aimed at developing new business opportunities directly with government partners and creating the public policy conditions necessary for expansion.Keep abreast of and advise on important changes in regulatory or legislative matters across the region.Evaluate, prioritize, and discern strategic paths toward game-changing regulatory change.Continuously build and nurture relationships with government leaders, partners, businesses, organizations, and other prospective partners to carry out legislative strategy and strategic development.Partner with organizations, educational institutions, and similar groups to align with Tools for Humanity's global mission.Support the company's work with strategic advisers and consultants.About you:"Hands-on and creative problem-solver, who understands on-the-ground complexities and is passionate about building scalable ways to account for them."At least ten years related experience working in government, campaigns, and/or advocacy in a highly regulated field.Existing government and advocacy contacts in Brazil with the aptitude to develop and nurture new contacts as required.Experience developing successful legislative and regulatory strategies ideally at both the national and international levels.Native Portuguese and excellent English communication skills and comfortability speaking in public are required.Ability to comfortably work on multiple priorities at once while executing projects in a demanding environment.Availability to travel at least 25% of the time depending on business needs.
