The Latin America Public Policy team is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join us as a Public Policy Manager, supporting work related to private messaging products, including WhatsApp, in the region. This role involves shaping issues and product agendas, collaborating closely with internal teams, and advising on the public policy implications of products, while working with a coordinated and cross-functional global team. The role requires significant experience working with or in government, politics, regulatory agencies, or think tanks, as well as the ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues.
Public Policy Manager, WA and Messaging ResponsibilitiesAdvise product and business teams on regional public policy matters to guide the development of products, services, and policies.Support teams in messaging-related issues during electoral periods.Identify, monitor, and analyze current and emerging policy issues affecting private messaging in the LATAM region.Support internal team planning processes.Work internally to obtain general narratives and adapt them to regional teams' needs, focused on local policy engagements.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in law, political science, international affairs, or similar.5+ years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or government affairs.Deep expertise in policy issues and product counseling.Experience working in the technology industry.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in law, political science, international affairs, data science, or similar.Experience in partnerships with international organizations.Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.Familiarity with regional regulatory frameworks and policy trends in Latin America regarding WhatsApp and Messaging.LocationsData Center
