QA Engineer - Systems Scripting #2382Position Summary:Our partner, a fast-growing SaaS company that offers easy-to-use remote monitoring and endpoint management software for IT teams, is looking to add to their team a QA Engineer with a focus on Systems Scripting. You will collaborate closely with the development and product teams to ensure the quality and reliability of their network-based solutions, to strive for error-free feature deployment. You will help as a subject matter expert on the tools used for testing, as well as the testing approaches, methodologies, and requirements.Experience and Education:Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical field/experience.4+ years of hands-on experience in manual testing.2+ years of experience, knowledge, and utilization of PowerShell, Shell, or Bash scripts.Strong understanding of network hardware and protocols.Skills and Strengths:Manual TestingManual protocol testingNetwork protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SNMP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS)Network hardware testing (e.g., firewalls, switches, routers)Network configurationNetwork troubleshootingFunctional testingNon-functional testingBlackbox & Whitebox testingScripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Shell, Bash)Test planningTest case designDebuggingVirtualization tools (e.g., VMWare, VirtualBox)GITJiraTest documentationPrimary Job Responsibilities:Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for network hardware and protocols to ensure high-quality standards.Perform testing of network protocols using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Shell, or Bash, identifying possible defects, and assuring corrective measures.Validate network configurations, including firewalls, switches, and routers, to ensure proper implementation.Maintain organized and up-to-date test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and testing processes.Identify opportunities to enhance manual testing processes, implement industry best practices, and contribute to overall software quality improvement.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure alignment on testing objectives and priorities.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Quality Assurance, Networking, and Scripting.
