UNICEF Brazil with its main office in Brasília and nine field offices works in close partnership with national and sub-national government, corporate partners, youth, and civil society organizations.
How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative Operations, you will lead and support the ICT functional accountability and internally manage ICT function and externally enhance collaboration and capacity building; improve the delivery of results and knowledge management; build business relationships and foster innovation:
Manage the ICT function and provide technical and operational support:
Manage ICT and supervise staff to enable the implementation of corporate ICT priorities, solutions and services, including critical areas like PFP Operations (Salesforce, PCI Compliance) and Technology for Development.
Prepare ICT related plans, budget, set priorities and performance indicators as well as year-end assessments, reviews and reporting.
Monitor risks and threats to ICT environment (Cybersecurity) or infrastructure and take appropriate mitigation actions and procedures.
Manage ICT-related communication materials internally, from NYHQ, GSSC or regional office.
Liaise with regional office, GSSC and ICTD to keep abreast of new initiatives and opportunities to innovate and modernize office operations and to contribute to the collective ICT evolution.
Enhance governance, collaboration, build relationships and capacity:
Participate in office management – CMT, operations and programme meetings to exercise the functional accountabilities of the ICT function.
Represent UNICEF ICT in inter-agency functions.
Engage with programme sections, counterparts and implementing partners to form technical and business reference groups to identify, analyze, research and promote innovative and viable solutions.
Support Supply and programme staff to establish local LTAs for ICT-related programme contracts for services and products.
Study and understand the business requirements, i.e., PPP, RBM, HACT, etc., to improve the delivery of results.
Improve the delivery of results:
Build and strengthen relationships with counterparts, i.e., government, sister United Nations agencies, international nonprofit organizations (INGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
Promote the use of collaboration tools for knowledge management, capacity building and preserving institutional memory.
Work closely to facilitate HACT implementation with partnership managers, programme and operations staff.
Liaise with HQs, RO and other CO to share knowledge, experience; discuss opportunities and risks for the improved delivery of results.
Manage and support in cooperation with programme sections Technology for Development projects for better utilization of technology to advance the delivery of results.
Foster innovation:
Promote creativity and innovative thinking to re-engineer work processes and make the best use of technology within and outside UNICEF.
Evaluate innovation initiatives potential opportunities and possible risks to improve productivity, efficiency and effectiveness and share with senior management, regional office, ICTD and Innovation Division.
Implement approved innovative projects such as the applications found on the UInvent Database and other applications like eTools, RapidPro, Ureport, etc.
Facilitate TED-like events inviting local and international scholars, CEOs, and technology gurus.
Work closely with Communication to promote to local philanthropists the benefits and rewards of innovation for their active participation, support, and funding.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: An advanced university degree is required in computer science, software engineering, information technology management, business administration or another relevant technical field.
Experience:
Required:
A minimum of five years of professional experience in information technology management and business operations in a large international organization and/or corporation.
Experience in Digital transition process.
Certification and/or proven experience in Business Analytics.
Certification and/or proven experience in Cybersecurity.
Certification and/or proven experience in Information Security, ICT Audit and Risk Management.
Certification and/or proven experience in Networks Management.
Certification and/or proven experience in ICT service management.
Proven leadership and experience in managing a team.
Desirables:
Certification and/or proven experience in PCI compliance.
Experience in a UN organization.
For country offices with a significant private sector fundraising operation, prior experience working with or in the private sector, and supporting private sector fundraising, is desirable.
Language: Fluency in English is required. Proficient in Spanish and/or Portuguese as the post will require a commitment to achieve fluency in Portuguese (if not already acquired).
Desirables:
Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
Experience in a UN organization is an asset.
