DescriptionAssistant Vice President/Regional Branch Manager – Southwest Region – Terre Haute EastDEPARTMENT: RetailCLASSIFICATION: ExemptREPORTS TO: VP, Director of Retail OperationsSUPERVISES: Brazil, Chrisman, Clay City, Oakland, Paris, Terre Haute East, Terre Haute South, Sullivan, Float StaffPOSITION SUMMARY:Responsible and accountable for directing and administering, through subordinate personnel, a group of Bank Branches to achieve profit, growth, and customer service objectives through the development of deposits, assets, operational efficiencies and fee based services.DUTIES:Provide positive leadership and open communication for all staff in regionMaintain complete understanding of all bank products and servicesWork with Retail Staff, Branch Manager, Mortgage Officers and Commercial Loan Officers to evaluate potential prospects and prominent customers in the region for business developmentAdminister and direct sales programs per branch within regionVisit branches within region a minimum of twice per monthConduct Branch Manager meetings within region as neededConduct CSR and Head Teller meetings within region as neededMaintain a high level of communication throughout the regionSchedule and conduct quarterly Branch Manager meetings in combination with other Regional Branch ManagersReview and evaluate regular reports of branch activities, including staffing, loans, deposits, overdrafts, and audits to meet regional profit and performance objectivesEnsure bank policies and standard operating procedures are consistently and uniformly applied by all Branch ManagersIdentify questionable actions, operational inefficiencies and problems and follow through with resolutionsResolve personnel issues, working with the assigned Human Resources personnel to ensure resolution within established procedure and guidelinesEvaluate Branch Manager performance on a consistent basis, providing counseling and guidance as neededAnnually prepare formal performance evaluations in an honest and impartial manner, recommending salary increases, career growth and promotions as appropriateAssist Branch Manager in researching competitive products and services in target marketsPromote a sales culture, ensuring staff receives proper training to demonstrate abilities to sell and cross-sellAssist in developing a Customer Satisfaction programAssist in developing goals for each branchAssist in annual budget process and coordinate overall branch budgets for the regionAssist Branch Managers with the development and management of quarterly Business Plans.Other duties as assigned by supervisorAttend ALCO meetingsRequirementsRELATIONSHIPS / QUALIFICATIONS:Responsible to the VP, Director of Retail Operation for the fulfillment of duties assignedPosition calls for effective time management skills, project coordination experience, the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clientsExtensive computer knowledge and grammar skills are necessaryProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power PointMaintain relationships within the business community including participation with community organizations and community projectsBachelor's degree in business or finance preferredThree to five years of related experience (sales, retail deposit area/staff management)Good management and human resources skillsExtensive background in financial institution operation policies and procedures, banking regulations (state and federal), employee development, sales and managementWORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environmentExtended viewing of computer screensModerate lifting up to 25 poundsRepetitive hand and arm movementModerate business traveling
